WHAT’S HAPPENING?

Look anywhere in the short Biden Administration and you will find failure after failure. Promise after promise. Excuse followed by more excuses. The border crises, a Center For Disease Control that scares every sensible person, an election process no sane person trusts, China’s imperial push, a trade policy that will make America’s economy weak, military leadership that can’t seem to do anything right. Just look at the mess in Afghanistan. Our President is the Greatest Blame Shifter of all time.

The problems are complex, but the cause is simple. We have managed to let the most inept government of my lifetime to sit in the seats of power. Starting with the White House. How can anyone even think about impeaching the President when you see who is waiting to take over? Kamala, Nancy. That’s no solution. They are smarter, nearly everyone is, but both are very left wing and not known to be problem solvers.

Don’t look to the Republican Party to fix this mess. They are primarily responsible for it. In power or out they are equally ineffective. When they had the best President of my life, they knowingly failed to support him when he needed help. Even today all their concern about Trump seems to be more about using his support to get them elected. Money from the class of people that brought us the “rust belt” and are now, I believe, recreating it by supporting politicians from both parties.

Pay attention. Our votes and dollars are needed.

TRANSFER OF POWER

All nations, empires, and kingdoms have struggled with this process. Finally, ‘we the people’ discovered that an orderly transfer of power from one group, person, or party to another depends upon a trust that has only appeared after the concept of one person, one vote. Only the fledging democracy developed in America fixed that concept into law, a law that has served us well and made the United States the most admired type of government in the world. But the concept of an orderly transfer of power through the ballot box demands a trust that all votes will be fairly counted, not usually, but every time. Since our struggle for independence and the creation of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, we have trusted the rule-of-law and the ballot box.

These two guiding concepts are intertwined. They cannot be separated. In the past decade, we have let the rule-of-law be ignored by personalities and organizations in the name of ‘forgiveness.’ ‘No real harm has been done’ and ‘everyone deserves a second chance’. The result has been that many of us believe there are really two systems of law: One for the rich and powerful and one for the rest of us.

Now we have a situation where the greatest crime in our history has been committed by one political party in what looks like a massive fraudulent election to give the radical left movement in America control of our nation. This crime either occurred or it did not. That is what lawful investigations are for. They determined if there was a crime. Then the courts and legislatures can restore the trust of the people in the election process. There is no other option.

Censorship in America

Barry Kelly with Starediting

It’s almost the end of 2020. Beyond an incredible amount of wide spread election fraud that has weakened our faith in the democratic election process, we are learning that we have been subject to censorship of an insidious nature by the news media, some government agencies, social networks, very wealthy individuals and big tech companies. What they have in common is they all will resort to pushing information they know is false as long as it promotes their causes and will not allow information to flow if it could damage their view of the world.

I believe the worst form of censorship is the refusal to publish information that they don’t like. For in that case the people are not even aware of the issue. The Department of Justice and the FBI have made decisions of when to publish certain information depending on their view of the political result. A recent example is the issue around the FBI handling of the Hunter Biden laptop that contained data that could have damaged Mr. Biden’s vote count. A recent poll stated some ten percent of democrats contacted said if they had known about the Biden family’s financial activities  while Mr. Biden was Vice President they would not have voted for him.

Having a free and inquiring press has been a very important source of support for America Democracy. But now this same free press is itself engaged in widespread censorship by deciding what should be published and what should be ignored. This judgement is based, not upon what will sell their product or what is a story the people need to hear but, instead their editorial judgement is based upon protecting their political causes.

The reason Trump tweets so much is, if he didn’t the people would never know his side of the issue. Print and digital media, big tech, social media outlets, billionaires and government agencies have no charter to censor information. No one does including the government, short of national emergency. Too bad our schools have forgotten about the 1st Amendment.

THE REAL SWAMP

by Barry Kelly with Starediting

President Trump has made very few mistakes. His experience and intelligence are on stage everyday. We have never had a President who has made himself so available to the people and the press. He is a successful pragmatic businessman who knows how to recognize and solve problems. Unfortunately the culture of the business world and the embedded fiefdoms in Washington are very different. And this is where his real enemies lurk.

His real enemies are not just the high profile politicians and bureaucrats we hear and see everyday. The power of the bureaucracy lies in the career and long term political appointees to various positions in the Government. They come. They stay and they will slowly move up to real power positions where they can support or thwart the wishes of the next president. In our current situation the Attorney-General is a good example. Mr. Barr presides over a very powerful organization but he does not control it. Years of Bush and Obama resulted in the politicalization and weaponization of the Department of Justice.

I don’t think AG Barr believes his organization would really investigate voter fraud. President Trump could not win an honest vote count among workers of the Justice Department (DOJ). To send investigators from there and the FBI to the battleground states to investigate voter fraud would ensure a Biden Administration.

If President Trump gets an honest ruling from the judicial system or state legislatures his first task must be to clear out the DOJ, FBI, CIA, IRS, the Joint Chiefs and the entire national security structure of the people who think they need not follow the lawful orders of the President.

WHOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR STREET VIOLENCE?

By Barry Kelly with Starediting

Look in the mirror. Yes, we are responsible. After all aren’t we in charge. Don’t we select our leaders? Unfortunately, many of the political leaders and office holders in our blue states are wimps. They have mastered the cheek turning approach to use in all situations. No one is responsible and no one is ever punished. If in doubt don’t prosecute. Just forgive and forget. The forgiveness thing has its place but we shouldn’t forget that without punishing those who harm others and those who fund the violence in our cities, it will only get worse. Maybe President Trump’s promise of ten years in prison for tearing down National Monuments had something to do with the end of terrorists toppling statutes.

In all civilizations there are always people who will break laws and cheat whenever they think it is necessary to get what they want. What do you think a competitive football or baseball game would look like without umpires and referees whose ruling are the law? Those who refuse to follow those rules are punished? The terrorists in the streets of cities know they won’t be punished for destroying lives and the property of hard working, law biding citizens. The violence you see on the street is not caused by protesters, they are terrorists. Who are well funded by socialist billionaires, high tech companies and social media wanna be revolutionaries. This must stop. The price of just watching it happen and hoping for the best is just too high for all of us. The rule of law is one of democracies pillars. Don’t ignore it.
